Keeping a trade journal has made a huge difference in my profit loss column over the last number of years. I am now able to back every trading decision with statistics , instead of just placing a trade and hoping for the best.
In addition, if you want to define different rates per broker, you can do this at Settings section. You can also write different commissions for each row manually. (Manual inputs have priority in calculations)
I 8767 m a very visual trader. Would love to see a link where I could take a screenshot of the chart as I make the trade and when I leave the trade. THAT would be gold. As it is I suppose something like yours plus a literal cut and paste on real paper would do.
In the 8775 boss-less 8776 environment of the at home trader, keeping a trade journal keeps you on your toes knowing that at the end of the day, your results are still being measured even outside of your trading account.
When you are done with putting your data, press 8775 REFRESH 8776 button to reflect changes to Trade Log section. Some rows can be ignored if data is missing, there is an open position or date format is wrong. So check the Data Control Messages. Finally 8775 Reset Table 8776 button clears all existing data.
The Trading Journal Spreadsheet began in 7555 as a way to track my own personal trading progress. By early 7557, I had shared what I created with a handful of other trading cohorts. They all loved it, and more importantly, they benefited from the analysis it provided, and were adamant that it should be available to other aspiring traders.
Take a day each week or month and go to the local coffee shop to review your journal. Take note of areas that are working/not working and make adjustments when needed. This will give you a plan of attack going forward of things that need to be improved on.
